Anova presents a one-day conference featuring Dr. Temple Grandin.
Luther Burbank Center for the Arts
Event Description

Bigger venue = more tickets available now!
Anova is pleased to announce that due to high demand, they have moved the previously sold-out “Autism in the Family” to the Ruth Finley Person Theater, a larger auditorium at the Luther Burbank Center for the Arts to accommodate more attendees at this important conference. This new and exciting one-day conference exploring "autism in the family" features Dr. Temple Grandin and an inspiring line-up of speakers crusading to make a positive difference for all individuals living with autism. Additional speakers include Temple Grandin’s mother Eustacia Cutler, Frank Campagna, Jill Escher, Feda Almaliti, and Regina Stoops.
Dr. Temple Grandin: Dr. Grandin is one of the greatest autism advocates of our time. Diagnosed with autism at age 3, she has become a world-renowned speaker, author, inventor, and trailblazer for autism awareness. In 2010, she was named in Time’s 100 list of the most influential people in the world in the "Heroes" category and was the subject of the award-winning biographical film “Temple Grandin.”
Eustacia Cutler: Temple Grandin’s mother will be Skyping in from New York to speak after Temple’s keynote and join Temple and Anova’s Co-founder, Andrew Bailey, for an exciting Q&A session. Eustacia lectures nationally and internationally on autism and her book “A Thorn in my Pocket” describes raising Temple in the “Leave-it-to-Beaver” world of the 50’s.
Frank Campagna: Frank is a Sesame Street producer, who collaborated on the Sesame Street Autism Outreach Initiative. He shares his experience as a father of an autistic son in his popular blog, “Autism Daddy.”
Jill Escher: Jill is the current president of Autism Society San Francisco Bay Area, providing a network for autism families to connect. She is also a mother of two children with autism, an autism philanthropist, and founder of the Escher Fund for Autism.
Feda Almaliti: Autism warrior mom and expert on CA autism health care laws. She fights every day to end autism insurance discrimination and marginalization. She is a mother of 3 sons, her youngest has autism and she is the Director of Outreach for the Autism Health Insurance Project.
Tickets include: Conference, lunch-option, exhibit hall, post-conference reception and book-signing from 4:00pm - 5:00pm, art exhibit, silent auction, and an opportunity to submit a question to Dr. Temple Grandin and Eustacia Cutler..
