What is it that sets the FountainGrove Inn Hotel & Conference Center apart from the rest? According to Debi Dobley, director of sales and marketing, it’s largely about customer service. “Our staff spends one-on-one time with guests to ensure their needs are met,” she explains. And it’s true—prior to guests’ arrival, they’re contacted to “personalize” their Wine County experience.
“We can reserve golf times, make dinner reservations, appointments, whatever they need. The service level is high-end,” she says.
Its location (just off Highway 101 in northern Santa Rosa) and amenities can’t hurt, either. In the past two years, the hotel has completely renovated its 124 guest rooms, eight rooms of meeting space and lobby area.
Guest rooms feature warm, earthy colors, plush bedding, granite countertops and stone-tiled bathrooms, complimentary wi-fi access and an overall boutique feel. “It’s an escape from the corporate world, which is especially nice for people doing business travel,” says Dobley.
By the time you read this, it’ll likely have completed renovating its onsite Equus Restaurant and Lounge to move away from fine dining toward a more casual, inviting experience. “It’ll have an updated look and a new menu,” says Dobley. “The name will remain the same, but people will be surprised when they see it.”
On the horizon (literally), the hotel is in the preliminary stages of planning an events location at the historic Round Barn, which is adjacent to the property. It’ll be used for weddings and other special events such as fundraisers, musical entertainment and corporate events.
“It’s always a great honor to be recognized by the community,” Dobley says. “We’re very proud to receive the award.”
