Upon viewing Meadowood Napa Valley for the first time, one thing is apparent: This is no ordinary retreat. “We consider ourselves the center of social, cultural and viticultural life in Napa,” says Valeska Muromoto, public relations manager. “We focus on making Meadowood a second home in Wine Country for our guests and members.”
Meadowood has it all. Nestled in a 250-acre valley, it’s an estate, hotel and resort club, with membership just topping 1,000. In addition to a full-service spa, Meadowood boasts 85 guest rooms and suites, two dining rooms, two swimming pools, a fitness center, seven tennis courts, two professional croquet courts, 4.5 miles of hiking trails and a nine-hole executive walking golf course. To compliment the outdoor activities, Meadowood has resident golf, croquet and tennis pros for inspiration and instruction.
Meadowood’s indoor activities are just as alluring. Whether it be lounging on the open patio of one of the newly refurbished Fairway Treeline and Estate rooms, enjoying views of the surrounding forest, relaxing under the well-trained hands of one of its masseurs or sampling the tastes of elegantly prepared Napa Valley cuisine, Meadowood offers nothing but taste and style.
Executive Chef Christopher Kostow recently came to Meadowood from Chez TJ in Mountain View, where he earned the restaurant two Michelin stars. In less than two months at Meadowood, he’s brought the Restaurant at Meadowood the same honor, placing it among the few Northern California restaurants to earn such a rating. “That’s a huge honor in the restaurant industry,” says Muromoto. “We’re extremely proud of the restaurant and the team for earning two Michelin stars.”
Since its opening in the late 1970s, Meadowood has been a lifestyle destination for locals and travelers seeking a luxury Wine Country getaway. Asked what sets Meadowood apart, Muromoto is quick to point out the beauty, both of the resort itself and the surrounding private valley in which its settled.
Indeed, Meadowood Napa Valley is all about setting—one that’s beautiful, relaxing and more than just a little out of the ordinary.
