Bank of Marin has been voted Best Business Bank in the 2011 NorthBay biz readers poll.
Bank of Marin opened for business in 1990 with branches in Corte Madera and San Rafael. It now has 10 branches in Marin, three in Petaluma and commercial loan offices in Santa Rosa and San Francisco. It also recently entered the Napa market by acquiring Charter Oak Bank in February 2011 through an FDIC-assisted transaction and is in the process of merging operations. Fabia Butler, vice president and advertising and communications manager, says, “It’s a great fit between two community banks that share the same philosophy of providing extraordinary customer service and supporting the local community.”
Bank of Marin will be opening two new Sonoma County branches, with a full-service Santa Rosa branch due to open in June and its Sonoma branch scheduled to open in late summer. Butler says, “We have experienced bankers to lead those two offices and have received a great response in those markets. We’re excited about the potential to grow in those areas.” And while it’s expanding, it’s doing so with environmental care in mind. All offices are in compliance with set environmental regulations and it’s taken steps to conserve natural resources, prevent pollution and reduce waste.
The bank has an outstanding record and has won many awards, including Bay Area Green Business certification, Top Corporate Philanthropist award from San Francisco Business Times and Best Place to Work from both that publication and North Bay Business Journal. In more recent news, Western Independent Bankers (WIB), a trade association and provider of education, products and services, announced Russell A. Colombo, president/CEO of Bank of Marin, as a new member of the WIB board of directors for 2011-2012.
Its caring and respect for customers through great customer service and follow-through has made Bank of Marin stronger than ever. Butler says, “It always comes back to the three fundamentals of how we operate. First, we adhere to disciplined underwriting standards; second, we build relationships with our customers based on trust and integrity; and third, we’re committed to supporting the communities where we operate.”
On behalf of Bank of Marin and Russ Colombo, Butler would like to add, “…a much appreciated thank you to everyone. And if you’re not a Bank of Marin customer, please stop by any of our branches in the North Bay and meet our exceptional staff to discuss your business and banking needs.”
