Frank Howard Allen Realtors has been voted Best Real Estate Company in the 2011 NorthBay biz readers poll.
Frank Howard Allen Realtors has been in business since 1910 and is ranked among the top 50 real estate companies in the nation. More than 40 percent of its associates have been with the company for more than 10 years and, once again, it’s been voted Best Real Estate Company by NorthBay biz readers.
Last year was a great year for Frank Howard Allen Realtors. It celebrated a major milestone with its centennial anniversary and published a book, Frank Howard Allen Realtors: The First Hundred Years, about the company’s history. It also hosted several community service events to give back to the communities that have supported it for the last 100 years. The company has expanded quite a bit since its beginning, and President/COO Noreen Smith says, “We’re excited about the opportunity we’ve had in the last month to expand into the market areas of St. Helena, Napa, Sonoma, Kenwood and Glen Ellen.”
Locally owned and operated, Frank Howard Allen Realtors benefits from a century of experience. Smith says, “We’re very community service-oriented and truly do all we can to give back.” Near the end of 2010, it started two community service projects in Marin and Sonoma counties.
This is a company that recognizes its achievements and doesn’t forget how it got where it is. “It’s the communities of Marin and Sonoma that have made us who we are—our agents, clients, staff and neighbors—who’ve supported us over the years,” says Smith. For Autumn Harvest (the first of its centennial celebration projects), agents and employees collected non-perishable food as well as reusable coats, jackets and blankets. All donations were distributed to Homeward Bound of Marin, Home Away from Homelessness, Casa Allegra, Committee on the Shelterless (COTS) and Redwood Gospel Mission. The second project, Giving Thanks, had agents and employees contribute and collect cash donations that were distributed to local food banks for their Thanksgiving meal provisions. In addition, in December, agents and employees from each office contributed money to “adopt a family” for the holidays.
Like many other businesses, it’s also taking advantage of Facebook. In December 2010, Frank Howard Allen Realtors launched a social network marketing toolkit that lets visitors search for homes in Marin and Sonoma counties. It also gives a detailed monthly market snapshot of the latest home sales data by city.
“We’re very grateful to all those who have voted for us year after year,” says Smith.
