Some days you just don’t have time to escape to that Tuscan-styled spa hidden in the hills. But you don’t want to settle for a drive-through massage, either. You want the best of both worlds: convenience and pampering…with all the amenities included.
Welcome to Coldwater Creek The Spa.
“We combine the convenience and accessibility you get at a day spa with the heightened experience you expect at a destination spa,” says Spa Director Alison Abbott. “We’re centrally located in Santa Rosa with a full staff ready to help relieve your stress. Our guests don’t have to drive out of town to get rejuvenated.”
“We’re incredibly honored to be recognized by the readers of NorthBay biz,” Abbott says. “We have a lot of respect for the publication and know the readers are discerning and honest in their evaluation. We’ll continue striving for excellence to uphold this honor.”
Located in Santa Rosa’s Montgomery Village, the spa is next to the Coldwater Creek retail store with plenty of free parking just outside the doors. “We have a nationally recognized parent company with an excellent reputation for specialty women’s clothing in the 30-to-60 age range,” Abbott says. “When the spa opened, we thought we’d have the same demographic, but we’ve found we’re actually reaching women ages 20-to-55—and we’re also seeing an increase in male guests.”
The keys to the spa’s success are the expertise and service orientation of its staff. “Our team members are the reason we’ve been so successful,” Abbott says. “They work to make every touch point in our spa special. Typically, our guests encounter several team members when they visit our spa, and our team does its best to surprise and delight our guests at every opportunity.
“Our goal is to create engaging, genuine and honest relationships that make our guests feel comfortable and relaxed. Our mission is to exceed your goals…even the ones you don’t know you have.”
The spa hosts a number of events during the year, including seasonal specials such as tropical pedicures in the summer and peppermint scrubs in the fall. In February, it held a therapeutic facial event with peels, scrubs and masks, as well as skin analyses, which Abbott says was “wildly successful.
“Our most popular services by far are our pedicures. Our basic pedicure is the most requested, but we also get a lot of guests who ask for our ultimate pedicure. That’s an 80-minute treatment in which you sit in a comfy zero-gravity chair that tilts back with your feet elevated. We put a nice warm neck wrap on your shoulders and give you an eye pillow so you’re totally relaxed. Most guests fall asleep during the treatment.”
The spa’s parent company was built on the philosophy of providing “legendary customer experiences,” and that attitude has carried over to the spa. “It’s the guiding light in everything we do,” Abbott explains. “If we can walk a guest out to their car and help them with their bags, or go to the store and purchase something special for their spa day, or drive to their home to deliver something they left in the spa, we’re happy to do so. We do everything we can to live up to those ‘legendary’ expectations.”
