A senior manager at Pisenti & Brinker in Santa Rosa, Sonoma County native Josh Moore knew from a pretty early age he was drawn to the profession. “After taking a class in high school, I just kept moving in that direction,” he says. “I attended Arizona State University for my freshman and sophomore years of college and transferred to Sonoma State University thereafter, majoring in business administration/accounting. I joined Pisenti & Brinker right after graduating in 2000.”

Yes, two dogs and three cats. Our border collie, Epic, is my buddy; he’s an extremely intelligent, selectively obedient, fun dog who makes me laugh—and his tail never stops wagging. The collective group provides quality entertainment, but the fluffs of hair/fur floating around can be a pain.
What’s your favorite local sports team?
49ers! I’m a Giants fan, too, but I lean more toward football than baseball.
Have you had an experience that completely changed your life?
Becoming a father. I have two amazing, beautiful daughters. It’s crazy how fast they grow up and how much they contribute to my happiness.
How are you like your mom? Your dad?
I’d like to think that I’m positive and kind like my mom is—not to say my dad isn’t. I’m probably more like my dad (“Pop”) in the way I think and the things we do together for fun. Honestly, I’ll take any comparison to my parents as a high compliment. I love and respect them both very much and am fortunate to be able to spend a lot of time with them as friends.
If you could be a contestant on any game show or reality show, what would it be?
“Top Chef.” I know I don’t have that level of skill, but I do enjoy cooking and good food.
If your children could change one thing about you, what would it be?
Silly me: I asked. My younger daughter informs me that, when I tell a story she’s already heard to someone, I use the same adjectives as I did the previous time. Apparently, I need to expand or vary my vocabulary—or perhaps get some new stories. My older daughter says I listen to too much country music when we’re on road trips. I was bracing for far worse suggestions and will call these a win.
What does your car look like on the inside?
Clean! I have a new truck for the first time in my life and I love it. If you’d asked me this same question a few months back, the answer wouldn’t have been the same. My old truck had more than 200,000 miles on it, and the interior had taken a beating over the years.
What spells adventure for you?
Off-road motorcycles. I love trail riding up in the mountains with friends and have met some great people over the past few years, whom I now ride with. Most of them are better and faster than me, so I’ve gotten better in my efforts to keep up—ride new trails, ride new places and such. Getting out in the middle of nowhere and camping for a night or two, away from computers and cell phones, is a great way to clear your head and have fun.
What’s your favorite or most memorable line from a movie?
When I’m with old friends, I have a bad habit of quoting lines from “Top Gun.”
When do you find yourself singing?
Except for one group karaoke of “Poncho and Lefty” at a party years ago, it doesn’t happen. I love music, listen to all kinds and enjoy playing the guitar, but I’m not a singer.
What animal are you most like?
Probably a dog. I’d say I’m mostly mellow, tail wagging and loyal. I like to have fun but I’m also content to lie around.
