June 2015 People Community Boosters Gary and Mar

If you haven’t yet experienced Transcendence Theatre Company (TTC), you owe it to yourself to track down tickets right away. This summer, thanks to community boosters Gary Nelson (pictured herre with members of the Transcendence Theatre Company) and his wife,  Marcia, that’s just become a bit easier. The Nelsons have signed on as TTC’s presenting sponsor for its 2015 season and have committed to expanding the company’s reach.

Traditionally, TTC performs its Broadway- and Hollywood-inspired concerts at Jack London State Park in Glen Ellen. Staged after dark in the onsite winery ruins, the shows take on a captivating, ethereal quality. But it can be difficult for some to traverse the uneven hill to reach the site, and, for others, the park is simply too far away.

The Nelsons will be presenting additional TTC performances at Wells Fargo Center for the Arts in Santa Rosa (WFC), including one June 24 and a two-night Holiday Show run December 4 and 5. “As longtime residents of Sonoma County with a deep love for the place we call home, it gives us immense pleasure to support two nonprofit companies we know contribute great things to the quality of our lives here,” the Nelsons said in a prepared statement.

“We believe in the missions of Transcendence Theatre Company and Wells Fargo Center for the Arts, and we were moved to bring them together to reach even more people than either are capable of doing on their own. Our commitment to local philanthropy is about improving the lives of our neighbors and enhancing how we all live as a connected community. ‘ Transcendence at Wells Fargo Center for the Arts’ fits our vision perfectly.”
