Welcome to the BEST Of the North Bay issue of NorthBay biz magazine. Inside, we reveal the 2016 winners of our annual readers poll, and you’ll get a glimpse of why these companies were voted the BEST in the North Bay. This year, our readers’ response was once again great. There were more than 2,500 ballots cast, which translated to more than 55,000 votes in the 39 different categories. There were more than 1,000 companies and individuals who garnered votes, which underscores the depth and quality of the companies doing business in the North Bay. In many categories, the voting was close, and our congratulations go out to all the winners. This year’s Gold Medal winners are listed on page 92 and multiple-year winners (that have won the BEST Of designation more than once) are listed on page 93.
The awards celebration will take place May 19 at Peacock Gap Golf Club in San Rafael. The evening wouldn’t be possible without the support of all our fine sponsors: Bradley Real Estate, Northern California Carpenter’s Union, University of San Francisco, Ghilotti Construction, United Mechanical, Moss Adams, Summit State Bank, Trope Group, Blakeslee Electric, Aita & Associates, Crown Trophy, C.P.A. Pouring their award-winning wines that night will be an assortment of Wine Country’s finest, including Armida Winery, Jordan Vineyard & Winery, Ferrari-Carano Vineyards, Breathless Wines, Balletto Vineyards, Gloria Ferrer Caves and Vineyards, Benziger Family Winery, Sonoma-Cutrer Vineyards and Matanzas Creek Winery. Not to be outdone by their wine cousins, this year two award-winning breweries will be pouring also: Bear Republic Brewing Company and Lagunitas Brewing Company. The food complementing the award-winning wine and beer promises to be a feast in its presentation, quality and variety, thanks to Pat Sorber and her outstanding staff at Peacock Gap.
