As the North Bay grapples with water restrictions and conservation efforts amid the driest season on record since 1976-1977, the Sonoma-Marin Saving Water Partnership assembled free water-saving kits for distribution at 15 locations throughout Sonoma, Marin and Mendocino counties on June 12 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. for curbside pick-up.

The kits include a bucket to catch water for reuse; WaterSense labeled low flow showerhead; 5-minute shower timer; WaterSense labeled low flow faucet aerator; Toilet dye test tablets and a self-closing garden hose nozzle. The kits will be limited to one per household and are available while supplies last.

The Partnership represents 12 water utilities in Sonoma and Marin counties that have joined together to provide regional solutions for water-use efficiency. The utilities include the Cities of Santa Rosa, Rohnert Park, Petaluma, Sonoma, Cotati, Healdsburg; North Marin, Valley of the Moon and Marin Municipal Water Districts; Town of Windsor, California American Water – Larkfield District and Sonoma Water (Partners). Each of the Partners has water conservation programs that can assist customers in reducing their water use. The Partnership was formed to identify and recommend the implementation of water use efficiency projects and maximize the cost-effectiveness of water use efficiency programs in our region.
