May is National Bike Month, created by the League of American Cyclists in 1956 to promote the benefits of bicycling and encourage more folks to give it a try. In preparation for local festivities, the Sonoma County Bicycle Coalition (SCBC) has opened nominations for our Bike Champion of the Year Award.
Each year, SCBC honors individuals whose commitment to riding a bike to commute to work, daily errands, recreationally and through events serves as an inspiration to others. Past recipients include Tracey Jones MD, Kaiser; Shaun Ralston, Sutter Health; Steve Bush, Sonoma Country Day School; Geoffrey Skinner, Sonoma County Library; Eric Eisenhart, Sonoma State University; Liz Klaproth, Argent Bank; Sgt.
