Loveski Deli will open March 21 in the main market hall at Oxbow Public Market, located at 610 1st St. in the Oxbow district of Napa.

Born out of Northern California by Christopher and Martina Kostow, Loveski Deli will feature handmade sourdough bagels, house-made pickles and other ferments, vegetables from the Kostow farm, and the best cured and smoked meats. With elements of Martina’s Thai upbringing, and the sensibilities of time and place, the result is at once irreverent, artisanal, personal, while remaining grounded in the dearly held traditions of appetizing stores and delicatessens.

Chef Christopher Kostow’s family name pre-Ellis Island was Koslovski. With this concept, Christopher and Martina are bringing back this lost part of the name and, with it, some of the culinary traditions associated with the Jewish diaspora.

“Christopher and I have been talking to Steve (Carlin) for quite some time about opening something at Oxbow. When this space presented itself, it was an opportunity we couldn’t refuse, and the perfect home for our first Loveski Deli”, says Kostow. “Our team, including Chef Kipp Ramsey, is excited to welcome guests into the community market and share all the delicious things we’ve been working on.”

Steve Carlin, Founder and Managing Partner of Oxbow Public Market added, “We’ve waited a long time for something like Loveski Deli at Oxbow. Wine country has been hungry for a great Jewish inspired deli, and Christopher and Martina are the perfect curators; thoughtful, creative, respectful of their roots, and of course amazing food professionals. This is a great moment for Napa, and we feel fortunate they decided to join the market.”
