Percy Brandon

Percy Brandon, General Manager of Vintners Resort and well-respected community leader, will leave his position in May after serving with the company for 21 years. Brandon joined the company in 2000 as General Manager of John Ash & Co. restaurant. Just a few months later in January of 2001, he was promoted to General Manager of the resort, then known as the Vintners Inn. He is known throughout the Sonoma County community as the man who “celebrates everything”, which has also become a registered trademark for the resort. Under his direction the property has expanded from 44 rooms to 78, and is now a full-service resort that includes an event center, multiple wedding venues, the award-winning John Ash & Co. Restaurant, River Vine Restaurant, The Front Room Bar & Lounge and Vi La Vita Spa.

“Working at Vintners Resort and for Rhonda and the late Don Carano the last 21 years has been the most rewarding time of my career,” said Brandon. “Making this decision has been difficult but made possible by my belief in our incredible management team, and the strength of this hospitality company we’ve built as a whole.”

Brandon’s commitment to community has been exemplary. He has served on the boards of many community and professional organizations including Sonoma County Tourism, the Santa Rosa Metro Chamber, the Sonoma County Harvest Fair, United Way of Wine Country, and the Russian River Valley Wine Growers.

“This is not only a tremendous loss to our organization, but also to the entire Sonoma County tourism family” said Claudia Vecchio, CEO of Sonoma County Tourism.

Brandon will continue to lead the Vintners Resort team until his departure in May. He is committed to ensuring a smooth transition. While Brandon remains deeply invested in the company’s success, he’s ready for his next professional challenge and will become the General Manager at the Allison Inn & Spa, a luxury resort in Newberg, OR.

“Like many Sonoma County businesses, Vintners Resort has gone through growing pains, construction, fires, and Covid,” says owner Rhonda Carano. “Percy has weathered the storms in the most honest, professional way. He has always led with integrity and held true in capturing the spirit of what my husband and I saw in Vintners Resort when we bought it in 2000.”
