The Napa Valley Film Festival (NVFF) announced a special community event in the town of Calistoga on Tuesday, Sept. 6 at 6:00 p.m. that celebrates the next generation of filmmakers as part of the Cinema Calistoga program (Sept. 7 – 9). Taking place at Mount View Hotel and Spa (1457 Lincoln Avenue, Calistoga CA), the event will screen eight student films from the fifth-grade participants in The Youth Cinema Project at Snow Elementary. Students that are part of the Youth Cinema Project learn valuable life skills like problem-solving, communication, and team-building through the cinematic art of filmmaking.
Prior to the screening of the student films, there will be food from Pacifico Mexican Restaurant and a silent auction with all proceeds from the evening benefitting the 2022-2023 Youth Cinema Project classes at Snow Elementary.
“The Latino Film Institute’s Youth Cinema Project is thrilled to partner with the Napa Valley Film Festival at Cinema Calistoga to encourage and support the next generation of filmmakers from Snow Elementary. We are very grateful that our students get to share their films with their community as part of an important film festival,” said Erika Sabel Flores, Youth Cinema Project executive director.
