Former Sonoma County Vintners director to lead Cirq, Chev

Michael Haney

Michael Haney, former longtime executive director of Sonoma County Vintners industry group, is the new general manager of two of Browne Family Wines’ most notable brands—Cirq and Chev.

Haney will oversee all aspects of the Cirq and Chev business, with the goal of advancing BFW’s vision of crafting high-quality small-lot wines, the company said in an announcement.

Browne Family Wines is a private estate winery in Windsor, founded by Sarah and Michael Browne. Tours and tastings are accessible by appointment and availability.

Haney led Sonoma County Vintners from 2014 until stepping down this past July. During his tenure with SCV, he spearheaded political advocacy and international trade initiatives, led vintners’ efforts in response to pandemic and wildfires impacts, expanded community and philanthropic partnerships and promoted the region’s vintners throughout the U.S. and internationally.
