Chicken Ranch Beach’s ranking among the worst beaches in terms of water quality in the latest Beach Report Card issued by Heal the Bay. The Tomales Bay beach was named fourth worst—and received one of the report card’s 10 F grades—aka “beach bummers”—due to its high amounts of fecal coliform and E. coli bacteria caused by runoff from nearby drainage systems.
