This year’s Perspective issue has changed its focus again, looking to identify the most business-friendly communities in the North Bay.
Welcome to our fourth annual edition of North Bay Perspective. NorthBay biz magazine is committed to delivering comprehensive, informative and fresh local information to our readers every issue. And in fulfilling that quest, the concept of publishing North Bay Perspective was born.
In this issue, we take an insider’s look at each of the three counties that comprise the North Bay—Napa, Marin and Sonoma. While sharing an appealing geography and climate, each county has developed in its own fashion, enjoying individual strengths and advantages while also facing its own set of challenges. So, as we explore the diverse vitality of the region, we attempt to shed light on these areas by examining what each county has not only done to overcome problems, but also build upon its unique natural strengths.
The first two Perspective issues looked at the individual North Bay counties in an overview mode, comparing and contrasting information and insights covering key business and lifestyle categories. Last year, instead of taking a big picture approach across business categories, we decided to focus the analysis on the building and development industries’ renewed efforts to overcome obstacles and ramp up building supply to meet the demand.
This year’s Perspective issue has changed its focus again to delve into the realm of local policies and procedures (fees, permitting, regulations, energy, water, environment, zoning, construction, etc.) that impact business well- being and potential for growth—looking to identify, by several criteria, the most business-friendly communities in the North Bay.
Ultimately, North Bay Perspective is the lens through which we view both business and business lifestyle to ascertain how well the North Bay is providing the key components for the quality of life to which we all aspire.
