“Our core commitments say it best; we are committed to integrity, excellence, respectful relationships, client service, personal and professional growth, optimism, teamwork and innovation.” Lori Brendlinger, marketing coordinator.

Summit Engineering, Inc., who recently celebrated its 40th anniversary, provides planning, permitting, design and project management services in the areas of civil, structural, electrical, planning and water/wastewater engineering in the North Bay. The firm started by developing high-quality, cost-effective engineering solutions for winery clients but soon expanded beyond wineries to a myriad of additional markets throughout Northern California.  Today, their growing team of more than 30 engineering professionals offers full-service engineering solutions that span across many markets and industries including brewery, resort, residential and commercial projects.

“We are often called the ‘winery engineers,’ says Lori Brendlinger, marketing coordinator. “For more than four decades, we’ve been a ‘start-to-finish’ resource for hundreds of exclusive winery projects in Northern California. We have established long-term relationships with local county agencies, land-use lawyers, planners, architects, contractors, and facility managers. Our strong associations position us as a trusted, committed and experienced partner.”

Summit Engineering delivers practical designs through strategic leadership and skilled project management. It believes that successful projects begin with the vision of their clients, supported by their solid expertise, discipline and experience. The company prides itself on standing by a firm commitment to engineering acumen, skilled project management, continuous communication to streamline project complexity and develop smart, cost-effective solutions, whatever the scope of the project.

“We nurture long-term relationships with our clients, project teams and communities and have a firm culture that supports these values,” says Brendlinger. “As a result, we have a large roster of clients for whom we have worked for many years who depend on us for services beyond the scope of typical engineering consultants.  We regularly assist them on due-diligence analysis, site evaluations, feasibility studies, winery and brewery process planning, as well as overall facility master planning. Over the years, the Summit team has served more than two-hundred wineries, as well as breweries, municipal, custom residential, commercial, education and hospitality projects.”

The company’s clientele includes Constellation Brands, Treasury Wines Estate, Opus One, Silver Oak, Gallo, Lagunitas Brewing Company and 21st Amendment Brewing Company. In addition, they have established a network of complementary resources such as consultants, architects, contractors, vendors and government agencies. In 2017, the firm created its planning division, which provides permitting assistance services. As a result, it’s able to collaborate as a team with their clients to seamlessly coordinate every aspect of a project. This helps ensure every project runs smoothly, stays on track, and meets expectations, from inception to completion.

Besides providing the best services for its clients, Summit Engineering relishes being part of the NorthBay business community. They have been, and continue to be, involved in many community services such as Engineers Without Borders, Redwood Empire Food Bank, Mike Hauser Academy, among others. “We care about our clients and their projects, and we care about each other,” says Brendlinger. “Our core commitments say it best; we are committed to integrity, excellence, respectful relationships, client service, personal and professional growth, optimism, teamwork and innovation.”
