The Napa Valley Vintners (NVV) provided support needed to run a number of clinics in which thousands of community members are receiving vaccinations.
“We are grateful to all those who have played a role in organizing and bringing vaccinations to our valley and we are honored to be able to support these efforts,” said Jack Bittner, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Napa Valley Vintners.
Increased vaccinations are a significant component of Napa County’s move to the orange COVID-19 tier. NVV dedicated more than $500,000 in financial support to help the effort, along with more than 1,000 hours of staff and volunteer time. NVV worked alongside nonprofit partners such as OLE Health, Providence Queen of the Valley and CORE, Helena Hospital Foundation and Kaiser Permanente.
“Our community is fortunate to have the continued support and leadership of the Napa Valley Vintners. We appreciate all they have done during the pandemic to strengthen our community and are thankful for their long-term commitment that is evidenced through such generous giving of time and financial support year after year,” said Brad Wagenknecht, Napa County Supervisor.
Last year, NVV acted quickly to help underwrite the expense of testing across the Napa Valley with a pledge of $100,000 towards CORE Response and Saint Helena Hospital Foundation; and an additional $250,000 investment in the Adventist Health St. Helena/St. Helena Hospital Foundation mobile health unit to expand its usage and conduct COVID-19 testing for farm workers, seniors and low-income families. NVV also sponsored a local campaign in English and Spanish to encourage safety measures as well as another effort to salute front-line workers.
