Local confectioner Windsor Toffee is quickly becoming a Sonoma County favorite.

Owners Veronica Aguado and Evodio Medrano opened their business two years ago when Veronica sought a change following a 12-year career in the chocolate industry. Having spent over a decade working with chocolate and honing her skills, she decided to continue following her passion for sweets and began crafting her own from their home kitchen.

“It has been the most difficult situation I’ve had to work through,” says Veronica. “I had to start perfecting my process of creating toffees and other confections to have them be consistent and with detail.”

Although difficult, their hard work has been worthwhile. Starting their own company has given Veronica the freedom to work at her own pace and make all of her own product decisions, she says. “My favorite part of my job is the ability to enjoy my time making products exactly the way I like them.”

Other than their tasty toffees, Windsor Toffee produces a range of treats like chocolate covered honeycomb, peppermint bark, peanut butter cups and marshmallow pops. Veronica’s favorites include the pecan toffee and the salted toffee flavors, which are also some of the company’s top sellers.

Windsor Toffee’s momentum isn’t slowing down anytime soon. They hope to soon offer their products in Napa and Marin counties, as well as providing online ordering services. Veronica hopes to have a storefront soon, where they can continue to grow their family business.

You can purchase Windsor Toffee from local shops including Oliver’s Markets in Santa Rosa and Windsor, Dalia & Sage in Cloverdale and Community Market in Sebastopol. You can give them a follow on Instagram to see their delicious new products in the works, and reach them for quotes at windsortoffee.com.
