Ben Shelton was runner up in the 2022 Tiburon Challenger; he's currently ranked 35th in the world.

Men’s professional tennis returns to the North Bay on Sunday, Oct. 1, when the Tiburon Challenger kicks off for its 16th year. A USTA ProCircuit $75,000 event, the Tiburon Challenger attracts rising stars in the sport from around the world, as they work their way up to higher levels of competition.

Ben Shelton, 20, who reached the finals but came in second in an exciting match against Zach Svajda, 20, in 2022, now ranks 35th in the world and competed at Wimbledon this summer—along with several previous Tiburon Challenger winners, who included Frances Tiafoe, Michael Moe and Cameron Norrie.

Zach Svajda won the 2022 Tiburon Challenger.

New this year, Raymond James Financial, Inc. is the presenting sponsor.

“I recently moved to Tiburon and learned about the Challenger, so last year Raymond James did a small sponsorship level to preview it, as we like to find ways to support the local communities where we all live and work,” says Jennifer Bottalico, California regional executive and managing director for Raymond James. “We found ourselves thoroughly impressed with TPC’s management of the tournament and special events, the level of play and the volunteering efforts of the town, so when the opportunity arose for the presenting sponsor, we were thrilled to step in and fill that role.”

The Tiburon Challenger runs from Sunday, Oct. 1, through Sunday, Oct. 8, at the Tiburon Peninsula Club, 1600 Mar West St., Tiburon. Free Kids Day on Oct. 1 gives youngsters a chance to meet the pros and engage in on-court activities with them, and a wheelchair tennis exhibition takes place between doubles and singles finals on Sunday, Oct. 8.

  1. Having read this I thought it was really informative. I appreciate you spending some time and energy to put this information together.
I once again find myself spending a lot of time both reading and leaving comments.
But so what, it was still worth it!

  2. Unquestionably believe that that you said. Your favourite reason appeared
to be at the internet the easiest thing to take into account
of. I say to you, I definitely get annoyed even as other people
consider concerns that they just don’t know about.

You managed to hit the nail upon the highest and
outlined out the entire thing without having side-effects ,
folks could take a signal. Will probably be back
    to get more. Thank you

  3. You can definitely see your expertise within the work you
write. The sector hopes for more passionate writers like you
who are not afraid to say how they believe. At all
    times go after your heart.

  4. You really make it seem so easy with your presentation but I find this topic to be really something that I
think I would never understand. It seems too complex and very broad for me.
I’m looking forward for your next post, I’ll try to get the hang
    of it!
