Prema Kerollis, general manager and co-founder of Three Sticks Winery and Head High Wines, was named as the recipient of the inaugural Wine Business Leadership Award.

The award, announced Aug. 31, was created this year in partnership by Sonoma County Vintners and the Wine Business Institute at Sonoma State University to recognize wine-industry leaders who demonstrate vision, innovation, inspiration and impactful service to the Sonoma County community.

In announcing Kerollis’s honor, award officials cited her implementation of “many community-centered pandemic-era initiatives for partners in hospitality, restaurants, travel and the arts.” They specifically noted the funds raised for local nonprofits through the Three Sticks Together Benefit Concert and Chef Series.

Kerollis said Three Sticks creates and participates in yearly volunteer projects to support a variety of community organizations. “The Three Sticks team has worked with FISH, La Luz, Toys for Tots, Adopt a Heart at Home and Power to Soar,” she said. “These initiatives and traditions instill a sense of responsibility for our community, appreciation for the abundance and depth in all our lives, all while bonding us together as a team.”

Also under her direction, Head High Wines became the first Ocean Positive Certified Winery and donated proceeds during its first eight years in business to the Sonoma Education Foundation and Sustainable Surf.

Sonoma County Vintners Executive Director Michael Haney said the award is intended to recognize leaders such as Kerollis for “amazing leadership, vision and impactful contributions that continue to elevate our local wine industry, community and region.”

Kerollis will be honored at the 2023 Sonoma County Wine Auction on Sept. 16, benefiting the Sonoma County Vintners Foundation.
