According to Avelo Air website, since taking flight nearly three years ago, Avelo has flown four million customers on 30,000 flights.

Texas-headquartered Avelo Airlines is establishing its newest base beginning May 1 out of Charles M. Schulz-Sonoma County Airport (STS). Initially two Boeing Next-Generation 737 aircraft will relocate to STS. Welcoming the fledgling, low-cost airline to Sonoma County will also create around 50 job opportunities for the area. In a press release about its STS base, Avelo officials said the airline will be hiring crew members such as pilots, flight attendants and aviation maintenance technicians.

Avelo’s first-ever flight took place in 2021, from Hollywood Burbank Airport to Sonoma County Airport.

Sonoma County Airport Manager Jon Stout said in the release, “We’re very excited for the next chapter in this great partnership with Avelo Airlines. We’re looking forward to the new connections and operations this will bring to our community and all the benefits of an Avelo base here at STS.”

Avelo will serve four nonstop destinations from STS:

  • Bend/Redmond, OR (RDM)
  • Las Vegas, NV (LAS)
  • Los Angeles/Burbank, CA (BUR)
  • Palm Springs, CA (PSP)

According to Avelo Air website, since taking flight nearly three years ago, Avelo has flown four million customers on 30,000 flights.

STS marks the seventh base operation for Avelo. Other base operations include Los Angeles’ Hollywood Burbank Airport (BUR), Southern Connecticut’s Tweed-New Haven Airport (HVN), Orlando International Airport (MCO), the Philadelphia and Delaware Valley region’s Wilmington Airport (ILG), Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU) and Las Vegas’ Harry Reid International Airport (LAS).
