Free online tutoring is now available to Sonoma County students thanks to a new program offered through the Sonoma County Library. HelpNow by Brainfuse is a new tool available on the library’s website that allows K-12 students to communicate with live online tutors 24 hours a day.
The service offers assistance in math, science, language arts, and other core K-12 subjects in English, Spanish, Mandarin, Cantonese, Vietnamese and Tagalog, according to the library. Additionally, adult learners have access to writing assistance, citizenship resources and other skill-building tools.
Rachel Icaza, education initiatives librarian for the library, described the service as a “wonderful addition” to the county’s study tools.
“Students and parents in our communities are doing a lot of great learning out there, but the library knows they could use more expert help with homework,” said Icaza in an announcement of the new service.
In addition to live help, Brainfuse provides supplemental tools designed to assist with learning, such as the Writing Lab and the 24/7 Question Center, which offer users assistance without having to connect with a live tutor. Visit sonomalibrary.org/helpnow.
