Hanna Center is celebrating the opening of the nonprofit’s new Community Mental Health Hub. A ribbon cutting and grand opening celebration takes place Wednesday, May 31 at the Hanna campus from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m.

The center, located at the Hanna campus at 17000 Arnold Drive in Sonoma, will offer such services as group and family therapy, substance use groups, parenting classes and workshops, early childhood classes, education assessments, trauma-informed enrichment offerings, yoga and movement, and more.

Hub officials describe the center as being influenced by the Sonoma Valley Mental Health Collective, a collaboration between 17 local nonprofit organizations that represent the mental health intervention and prevention resources that already exist in the Sonoma Valley.

Charlotte Hajer, senior director for the Community Mental Health Hub, says the new services are meant to complement the resources already being offered by nonprofits in the area.

“That’s why this clinic is very intentionally called a ‘hub,’” says Hajer. “It’s a place for services, but also a place to connect with other resources and a place for all the various human-services nonprofits to work together.”

The Hub has contracted with a variety of insurance carriers, including Medi-Cal, Kaiser, Blue Shield, Anthem and Western Health. For those who do not have insurance or choose to pay out of pocket, a sliding scale payment is available. The Hub’s services are open to everyone and no affiliation with Hanna Center is needed.

The ribbon-cutting grand opening will take place May 31 from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. All are welcome to the family-friendly event, which will include tours of the Hub, information from the center’s partners, performances from Baile Folklorico and the Transcendence Theater Company, face painting, a visit from Classroom Safari, music, treats, and more. First District Supervisor Susan Gorin will be in attendance.
