Daryl Reese Law was voted best law firm by voters in our annual readers’ poll—and Daryl Reese, founding attorney at the firm, is happy about the win and believes it comes down to their clients actually enjoying being with them.
“There are amazing law firms in Sonoma County, so it’s an honor to be voted for,” Reese says. “That’s an awesome thing.”
The Santa Rosa-based firm handles estate planning, business law, nonprofit law and internet privacy protection law—and Reese believes that what sets them apart is the way they interact with their clients. He said their friendly, caring and calming environment inevitably means that their clients actually enjoy visiting their office.
Reese pointed out that all businesses have cultures unique to their organization. “We’re in the business of really making a difference in other people’s lives,” Reese says. “That’s the culture here. That’s true for us as a staff and it’s true for us as we’re working with clients. I think that shines through.”
Reese says their law firm is also very good at bringing a sense of calm to their clients’ lives. “We’re really after helping them make sure that their documents are in order and their legal issues are really in compliance so that they can just have some sense of peace of mind with what they’re doing and how they’re doing it,” he says. “I think that sets us apart. We really do care about making sure that our clients know everything’s taken care of. They can just rest easy now.”
Reese says they also make sure their clients understand what they are doing—and why—each step of the way. “I like to say that we’re attorneys and advisors,” Reese adds.
They have a lot of nonprofit clients and for Reese, who spent 20 years as a nonprofit executive, this is very important. They help nonprofits stay in compliance while giving back to the community and in this way they’re helping that community as well. “It is absolutely a personal passion for me to work with nonprofit clients,” he says.
“It really all comes down to wanting to make a difference in other people’s lives, and we happen to do that by providing legal services.”
